Basic Key Word Sign (Australia) Workshop For Parents/Caregivers
Key Word Sign is a communication approach where signs for keywords are used as the person speaks at the same time. Key Word Sign is used by persons with complex communication needs, as well as the communication partners who interact with them. The Basic Key Word Sign Workshop provides an introduction to the use of key word signing as a form of total communication approach. This workshop is delivered by Eva Loh, a Speech-Language Therapist and qualified Key Word Sign (Australia) Presenter with many years of experience using Key Word Sign in clinical work. 

By the end of the workshop, participants will:
  • Demonstrate a better awareness and understanding of the theory of key word signing and communication
  • Learn an interactive sign vocabulary (approximately 80 signs)
  • Learn how to select vocabulary and start using key word signs and gesture
  • Learn the principles of sign production techniques, and key word signing principles through hands-on practice sessions
No fees required. Tea break & lunch provided.
