Wish Making Friends Didn’t Feel So Hard?
Social skills don’t come naturally for everyone. Many of us find social situations confusing, stressful, frustrating. Learn how to start conversations, handle teasing, and build real connections, with strategies that actually work! Making friends is a skill, and skills can be learned. PEERS® gives us the social ‘how-to’ that no one explicitly shared or taught. We can learn to connect, not just ‘cope’.
PEERS® is a science-backed programme that empowers individuals with social challenges, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, social anxiety, and more, to thrive socially. At Joyful Soul Psychology, we offer a safe, affirming, and step-by-step way to build real-world social connections.
Weekly in person group sessions for 90 minutes per week, and participants are taught social skills through didactic lessons and role-play demonstrations, and practice these skills with their group (optional virtual practice sessions):
- Module 1 (8 Sessions on Making and Keeping Friends) $720;
- Module 2 (8 Sessions on Handling Peer Disagreement & Rejections) $720;
- Module 3 (5 sessions on Dating Etiquette) $450
You have the option to enrol individual modules sequentially or a bundle price of $1,800 (discount $90) for all three module of a total 21 sessions.
Module 1: Friendship (8 sessions) - Learn to connect in our own way
- Developing and maintaining friendships
- Making and keeping friends
- Group chats, humour, and invitations
- Joining, planning and hosting hangout
Module 2: Conflict and Rejection (8 sessions) - Navigate drama safely
- Dealing with teasing and bullying
- Understanding social reputation
- Resolving disagreements
- Coping with gossip, exclusion and indirect bullying
Module 3: Dating Skills (5 sessions) - Understand relationships on our terms
- Recognising signs of interest
- Healthy texting and dating etiquette
- Asking someone out
- Navigating relationships and breakups
Group size: Small groups of 2 to 5 students for personalised support.
Facilitators: Two certified PEERS® practitioner therapists, one is a speech therapist and ICF coach, and another a psychologist.
PEERS® Social Skills Programme is for anyone with motivation to improve their social life.
