  • As an autistic individual enters puberty and adulthood, we often notice that new or more intense behavioural challenges may emerge. The impact of such behavioural challenges affects the quality of life not just for the person-on the autism spectrum, but also the whole family.

    The first session of this course will highlight the possible reasons for this situation.

    The second session presents strategies for families to apply to better support the autistic individual at home through this confusing stage in their lives.

  • Learning Goals

    Upon completion of the training workshop, participants will be able to:

    • Understand potential reasons for behavioural challenges.
    • Learn a framework, as well tools and strategies to support your teenager/adolescent and adult on the spectrum to navigate through escalating and challenging behaviour

  • Target Audience

    Parents & Caregivers caring for Individuals (teenagers and adults) on the autism spectrum who have high needs support (who do not use words, or use single words to communication)

  • Fees and Subsidies

    Full fee: S$130.80 per participant
    CTG co-payment: S$10 per caregiver
    (inclusive of GST and handout materials)

    Parents/Caregivers applying for Caregivers Training Grant (CTG), please email the following documents to Mr Tan Qiu Quan (qiuquan.tan@autism.org.sg) after you have registered online.

    • CTG application form
    • Participant's NRIC (front & back)
    • Child's birth cert or NRIC and re-entry permit (if applicable)
    • Child's diagnosis report or doctor memo or CTG form verified by SPED school or EIPIC centre.
